3. To solicit student-athlete response to proposed NCAA legislation or NAC/ IBFC legislation.
4. To organize service efforts to promote a positive image in the community.

MEMBERSHIP
Composition – The membership of the SAAC will consist of two members from each varsity team, athletic training and cheerleading/dance team. The cheerleading/dance team will be considered ad hoc members; they will have limited voting rights on certain items as deemed by the Advisors.

Selection – Each academic year, coaches will be asked to select two individuals to represent their respective teams on the SAAC. Consistency of membership is strongly encouraged and coaches should only replace individuals that are either graduating, have exhausted all eligibility or have exhibited behavior not consistent with representation of their team. All members (current and new) will attend the final April meeting of the SAAC.

Duties and Responsibilities – Members will attend all meetings and functions of the SAAC Committee. The committee will meet monthly, with a provision for additional meetings as needed. SAAC members will serve as a liaison between the committee and his or her individual team.  Each SAAC member is required to volunteer/assist with two events each academic year.

1. The Executive Board of the SAAC Committee shall consist of two co-chairs (one male and one female) and a secretary. These individuals will be voted on at the last meeting of the academic year. If a member of the Executive Board does not return the following academic year, a re-vote will occur at the first meeting of the following academic year.

2. The co-chairs will assist the SAAC advisors in presiding over all meetings and will work directly with the SAAC Advisors in developing meeting agendas and communicating with the other members of the committee.  These individuals will also serve as conference SAAC representatives.

3. The secretary will take minutes at all meetings and provide a copy to the SAAC Advisors for distribution.

4. The community service coordinators (two) will help the Executive Board to select group community service events – one each term.  It is highly recommended that both individuals not be “in-season” during the same athletic season.

5. The Organizational Council meetings representatives (two) will attend the Organization Council meeting, held monthly; date and time are set by the Vice-President of AUSA.  These individuals, along with the Executive Board, will also help select and coordinate SAAC representative at one Activities Programming Board event each term (co-sponsorship with APB).
